H. Darlan Araujo is a mining engineer with close to 20 years of international experience in open pit and underground operations with a strong balance between operations and engineering. He is an expert in mineral resources and reserves management (e.g., estimations, orebody modelling, geostatistics) and mine planning (e.g., stope optimization, mine design, cost estimation, mine scheduling), and has led large inter-disciplinary technical teams. Prior to joining Quintana, Mr. Araujo was Senior Underground Mining Engineer at Golder Associates Inc, a large, global technical consulting firm. He joined them from Nyrstar N.V., a multi-national, vertically integrated mining and refining company, where he was Resources & Reserves Manager and performed Technical Services duties as well. Mr. Araujo started his career providing technical consulting services in the metals and mining sector for 12 years for CAE and DATAMINE. He holds a BSc in Mining Engineering from Federal University of Campina Grande, Brazil and is a Qualified Person as a SME Registered Member in the field of Mine Engineering.
