Charles Brown is a mining engineer with over 40 years of extensive, international experience in operations, project development, engineering studies, corporate development / M&A and C-level management. He recently retired from being EVP and COO of Quintana Resources, but continues to serve it as a Senior Advisor. Prior to joining Quintana, Mr. Brown worked for developing and producing mining companies, including: Great Panther Silver Ltd. (Vancouver / Mexico), New Gold Inc. (New Afton, BC, Canada), Crystallex International Corp. (Venezuela), Outokumpu Group (Tara Mines Ltd. subsidiary, Ireland), Giant Yellowknife Mines Ltd. (Timmins, Ontario), and Sherritt Gordon Mines Ltd. (Lynn Lake, Manitoba). Mr. Brown was most recently COO (5 years) through SVP Corporate Development (1 year) of Great Panther Silver Ltd., during which time the company became a profitable and growing multi-mine silver producer. While working at Tara Mines Ltd. (1990-2002), Mr. Brown was promoted from Manager of Mines to the position of Managing Director (CEO), where he for 7 years was responsible for Europe’s largest and highly mechanized underground zinc mine. During that time he oversaw significant productivity and cost improvements, along with major technical advances in mining and metallurgical performance. Mr. Charles Brown holds a BSc. Honors Degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Nottingham, U.K.
